The weather was so nice today, so we decided to visit the Tyholt Tower. Back here in Norway, sunny days are a rare sight, as the weather is usually really bad during this time of the year 🙁 But today was an exception! that’s why we just wanted to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.
We walked around the city for a few hours, before heading to the Tyholt Tower for some lunch.
The Tyholt Tower is one of the main tourist attractions in Trondheim. It is a telecommunications tower and is one the highest tower here in Trondheim. But it looks tiny compared to the Tokyo Skytree, which we visited during our Japan trip. We’re already starting to miss Tokyo, everything from it’s bustling city life to the food and shopping.
The Tyholt Tower consists of a sight seeing level on the lower floor, and on the upper floor you will find the Egon Restaurant. Did you know that the upper floor spins around 360 degrees? (A full turn takes about one hour).
You can get a panoramic view over Trondheim city. “Can you spot the Munkholmen in the distance?“
It was pretty crowded at the Egon restaturant. So we had to wait for around 15 minutes before getting a table. Both of us decided to order the bacon and cheese burger, which came with fries as well. The meal was pretty big, so we didn’t manage to finish it all. It was pretty cool seeing the restaurant spin 360 degrees. We sat there for an hour and a half; just having lunch and enjoying the view over the city. It’s also very pretty here, during the night, but we decided to just head back home.
Stay tuned for our next post!
