London trip 2017 : Harrods, Notting Hill, Hyde park & Big Ben

Hello everyone~

We recently went on a short week-end trip to London ヽ(o^―^o)ノ✨. Which was sort of an impulse trip, as we randomly came across some cheap plane tickets to London. It was really nice going away for the weekend for a change, as some of the weekends have been quite monotonous.

Day 1: Afternoon tea at Harrods, Westminster Bridge

Our plane arrived in London in the evening, and then we headed to our hotel to drop off our luggage, before going to Harrods. Where we met up with our friend, and had some afternoon tea together 🍰☕️. We sat there chatting away for a few hours, before saying goodbye to our friend who was taking the train back to Bath.

Afterwards we decided to go for a walk along the Westminster Bridge, and where we spotted the Big Ben, which is an iconic London landmark. For the longest time we thought Big Ben was the clock tower, but it is actually the bell inside. While the clock tower is called Elizabeth Tower.
Even though we have seen Big Ben on our previous London trips, but it is still a “must see” every time we are in London. It is a beautiful sight both during the day and at night.
We also spotted the London eye during our walk at Westminster Bridge. Definitely, visit this bridge if you want to take photos of many famous London sights (ex. House of Parliament, Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben), the London Eye & Westminster Abby) all at once.

Day 2: London Tower Bridge, Notting Hill & Hyde park

This was our second and last day in London. First, we went out for some English breakfast, before spending the remaining time doing some sightseeing ╰(*´︶`*)╯💕. After breakfast, we visited the Tower Bridge, which is such a beautiful bridge. A walk across is definitely worth the time, especially if you do not have much on your schedule for the day.

Notting hill

After that, we visited Notting Hill, which is known for its wonderful small and colorful string of town houses. It is such a beautiful neighborhood in London. Some of you might even recognize this area from the movie “Notting Hill”.

We especially liked the first part of Portobello Road, with the beautiful sight of the colored houses. Totally fell in love with the houses in pastel colors! We would not mind living in our own baby pink house one day.

Hyde Park

Since this was such a lovely sunny day, we decided to visit the Hyde Park 🌳, which is a great park for walking and relaxing. Then we headed to the ever so busy Oxford Street for some shopping, as it was close to the park (very convenient).

After spending a few hours at Oxford Street, it was time to head back home. We did not have time for a proper dinner, but just bought a smoothie and some sushi 🍣 on our way to the airport.

And this wraps up our short but fun trip to London 💕.
