Korea Trip 2016 – Day 6 : Dongdaemun

Annyeong~

Today we wanted to explore the Dongdaemun area and perhaps do some shopping there. If you’re a K-drama fan, then you might recognise the Dongdaemun area. Since some of the scenes from various dramas are filmed here. We certainly recognised the Cheonggyecheon river close the shopping area.

Dongdaemun is one of the most famous shopping districts in Seoul. So if you love shopping, then this place is definitely worth a visit. Here you will find huge shopping centers with multiple levels of stores; that sell Korean fashion, accessories, cosmetics and a lot more to very affordable prices. So be prepared to browse through numerous corridors of shops. And by the way, Dongdaemun is also famous for their nighttime shopping.

We randomly visited the big Migliore shopping building that consisted of open plan clothing stalls. Many of the sellers at the stalls were selling similar or identical items. So you can easily skip some of them.

We spotted the beautiful architecture of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. At first we were not sure what it was. So we had to google the place. Turns out that it was quite an interesting place to walk around. The architecture is very unique and futuristic. They have this nice outdoor area where you can sit down, and do some people watching☺️. There is also this lit flower garden that is particularly beautiful at night.

Dinner

Now it was time to get some dinner. We ordered the Korean BBQ, mandu (dumpling) and beef stew, so we were pretty full by the end of that dinner.

After the filling dinner, we decided to go for an evening walk. In hopes of walking off some of that delicious food. It was so peaceful just walking along the Cheonggyecheon river, and enjoying the nice evening here in Dongdaemun.
