Korea Trip 2016 – Day 13: Han River

Annyeong~

Me and Jouls felt a little lazy today, so we really didn’t do much sightseeing. We spent most of the day at home, but decided to head out to visit the Han River, during the afternoon. We took the subway to the Express bus terminal station, then walked to the Han River from there. The Han River is huge; so there are several other ways to get here as well (ex. Exit 2 or 3 of Ttukseom Resort station (Subway Line 7) or Exit 1 of Cheonho station.

Turns out that there were many people heading to the river as well, so we just followed the crowd. The area surrounding the river was really beautiful, here you can find pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, parks and restaurants. So it was the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. We spotted quite a number of families and couples camping out and having picnics. Others were playing music or flying kites.  So we had a really good time just walking around the area.

It gave us a really nice pause from all the sightseeing from the previous days. If you want, you can also hire a bike for a whole day for around 15 000 Won. There are also outdoor fitness areas  and places to play basketball along the riverside, if you’re interested. Or you can just sit down and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and the Seoul skyline and take some pictures (like us 😊) . There is also this cool fountain from the Banpo bridge (that lights up during certain hours).
