Hello everyone ~
We went to Gjøvik in August, but I have not had the time to blog about it, until now. It was just a short weekend trip, but it was great going away for a while. As it feels like forever since we last went on a vacation.
This was our first time in Gjøvik. Our main purpose with this trip, was to visit one our friends, who we have not seen in a long time. Lucky for us the weather as still very warm here, compared to Trondheim. And people were still wearing summer clothing.
It’s really lovely here, as you can see Mjøsa anywhere you go. Mjøsa is Norway’s largest lake, as well as being one of the deepest lakes in Norway and in Europe.
We had a long walk around the city, Gjøvik is not really big, so everything is within walking distance.
After our long walk, we grabbed some lunch at one of the nearby café. Both us ordered a chicken sandwich with some fries. Too bad the food was not that good.
And then we visited the CC mall (not pictured), which is the largest malls in Gjøvik. So we spent a few hours browsing around the shops.
We spent most of day 2 hanging out at our friends place. Then we decided to do some more sightseeing since we are here. We went to the area near Gjøvik Fjellhall, where we spotted this cool water fountain/stairs, there were also some sculptures in the nearby area.
We were too lazy to cook anything that day, so we ordered some take away pizza and dropped by the local bakery to buy some cake. Today was truly a cheat day when it comes to our diet.
This wraps up our mini weekend trip to Gjøvik.
“Have you ever been to Gjøvik before?“
