Our second day in Copenhagen consisted of visiting the little mermaid and Strøget. We took the boat at Nyhavn to the little mermaid. On the way we passed by this little park filled with sculptures, there was also a church ( not sure the name of it though).
We weren’t quite sure where the little mermaid was located, but there were many tourists heading towards a specific direction. So we just assumed that they were headed towards the little mermaid, and followed the crowd there.
After walking for a good 5 minutes, we then spotted a huge crowd ahead of us. When we got closer we finally saw what we were looking for!- The little mermaid. Some might be familiar with this character from H.C Andersen’s story.
There were so many tourist surrounding the statue, so it was difficult to get a good photo without including a random tourist in it.
Shopping at Strøget
Later that day we went to Strøget, which is a famous shopping street in Copenhagen. On our way, we spotted the National Theater, which was quite beautiful.
The street of Strøget was longer than expected; there were endless shops that we wanted to visit along the way. We ended up at this shopping mall called Magasin, where we spent a few hours browsing through the stores. Many of the items were on sale, as there was a big post-Christmas sale going on.
There was this restaurant that we wanted to try out, but it was already full when we got there. So we had dinner at this chicken restaurant called Chicks. The food was just okay, as it was a little too salty for our liking.
This wraps up day 2 of our Copenhagen trip 💕
” Have you seen the statue of the little mermaid or been to Strøget before?“
Stay tuned for our next Copenhagen Trip post!
